Barangay Ginebra San Miguel was able to snap a three-game losing skid after they able to pull a victory against the NLEX Road Warriors in Ibalong Centrum for Recreation in Legaspi City, Albay.

The last time the Gin Kings enjoyed a victory way back in May 11, 2018 versus the Blackwater Elite. After that, it was all loses at the hands of San Miguel Beermen, Meralco Bolts and the Phoenix Petroleum Fuel Masters.

This time around, Justin Brownlee made sure that his efforts won’t go down the drain. Brownlee registered a monster 20-20 performance with his 23 points and 22 rebounds along with his seven assists.

Greg Slaughter added 12 points and 10 rebounds while his fellow big-man teammate Japeth Aguilar chipped in with 13 points, three assists, three rebounds and two block shots.

The game was close up to the end of the first half where Ginebra only led by six points. Then on the second half, NLEX started to miss the services of Kevin Alas and Kiefer Ravena who were both not in the game. Alas is still nursing an injury he incurred during the 2017-18 PBA Philippine Cup semis while Ravena got slapped with a 18-month suspension.

The Gin Kings built a 19-point lead after four unanswered Brownlee points. The Road Warriors attempted to make a comeback but unable to maintain its pace. Eventually NLEX lost the momentum as it shifted back to team NSD.

Arnett Moultrie propelled coach Yeng Guiao’s team offense with his 30 points that goes along with his 19 rebounds plus four steals. Emman Monfort added 14 points and the only Road Warriors local player who scored in double figures.
