The Beermen are now getting closer to the biggest stage of the 2018 PBA Commissioner’s Cup as well as to the another championship trophy as they shoot for their renewed grand slam campaign.
For Aces on the other hand, it will be their chance to do a “payback-time” to a team that destroyed their opportunity to win the 2016 PBA Philippine Cup as they got beaten after leading the Finals series 3-0.
To all San Miguel Beermen fanatics, they called that dramatic comeback as the “Beer-acle” run where their favorite team is the eventual winner of the 2016 All-Filipino trophy.
For the Aces fans, that was probably the most painful memory and the wound may still not be healed.
Not only that, the Beermen have shown mastery against the Aces in the Finals match as they went supreme in three championship games in a four conference stretch that began in 2015 PBA Philippine Cup.
This conference, the difference is that they’re playing in the semis and will be fighting for a championship ticket. Both teams have a winning records in the PBA and it will be exciting to see them in last two rounds of the playoffs.
“Kaya dapat namin paghandaan ng husto sila dahil siguradong gustong-gusto nilang makabawi,” said San Miguel coach Leo Austria.
The Beermen are the defending champions in this conference, although started slow at 1-3 but slowly gaining momentum especially in the post-elims.
