The Beermen is on its way to sweep and end their semi-finals series against the Alaska Aces when PBA resumes this evening in Ynares-Centre, Antipolo.
The league’s four-time Most Valuable Player and the top candidate for the Best Player of the Conference, June Mar Fajardo is looking forward to win Game 3.
“Try namin tapusin na, para makapagpahinga kami,” said Fajardo.
If they take home the victory after the game tonight, the Beermen will wait for the winner of the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters versus the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel which their semis series is now tied at one-win apiece.
The game is scheduled at 7 PM as the Beermen will try to continue its mastery playing against Alaska.
Game Three tipoff is at 7 p.m. with the Beermen out to further stretch their domination of the Aces.
The biggest issue right now for coach Alex Compton is probably his depleting lineup. Although his team proved that they can sustain their winning momentum during the elims without Calvin Abueva but as they dive deeper in the playoffs, losing another player in Chris Banchero is a tough one.
With that unfortunate Aces situation, the Beermen now have something to exploit to make it as an advantage for their end.
“Sana (sweep). Pero for sure, hindi ganun kadali ‘yung next game kasi nga kailangan nila manalo,” said Fajardo. “Siyempre mahirap. Walang madali kasi playoffs na. Kailangan namin maging ready. Hindi kami puwede mag-relax.”
“We also have to stay focused,” Fajardo said. “Nawala ako sa focus, buti tinulungan ako ng mga teammates ko maka-recover,” he added.
“Sorry, nanggigil ako.”
