Most PBA fans who got stuck in their seats during Game 3 of the San Miguel Beermen versus Barangay Ginebra San Miguel probably thought that the match will end in a close fight.
However, in the third quarter of action, everything has changed as the Beermen found their trigger-man and led them to another blowout victory.
Sparked by the hot shooting of Chris Ross, the Beermen shown once again the reason why they’re the reigning Commissioner’s Cup champ as they demolished Ginebra, 132-94 and took 2-1 score for their Finals series.
Both the Beermen and the Gin Kings traded baskets in the first half. If Ginebra take a lead, Beermen will be there to catch-up and vice-versa.
As usual, Ginebra’s import Justin Brownlee never short of having spectacular game led his team with 32 points but Renaldo Balkman along with his local teammates who also had great performance in Game 3 surpassed the scoring output of Brownlee.
Four-time MVP June Mar Fajardo got 22 points and 15 rebounds, Renaldo Balkman had 28 points and eleven boards then there’s spark of coach Leo Austria. Chriss Ross ignited SMB run as he scored 23 points and 21 of those came from beyond the arc. Ross also had seven rebounds and five assists.
Likewise, Christian Standhardinger, Arwind Santos and Marcio Lassiter reached double-figures in scoring.
“Weird series. I’m not expecting this. Lopsided matches in the first three games,” said SMB head coach Leo Austria.
