The Barangay Ginebra San Miguel stopped the winning streak of SMB coach Leo Austria in the PBA Finals and dethroned the Beermen as the team also known as the teamNSD won the 2018 PBA Commissioner’s Cup championship game.
Scottie Thompson was named as the Finals MVP after his spectacular performance in their campaign for another PBA glory.
Scottie who is also known as “Mister-Do-It-All” was a perfect complement to Justin Brownlee who was also awarded earlier as the 2018 PBA Commissioner’s Cup Best Import.

That stellar performance was a follow-up to his 20 points and eleven rebounds effort during Game 5 and his six markers in the last few minutes of the fourth quarter was the turning point for Ginebra to steal the game from the Beermen.
“Hindi ko alam kung deserve ko ito, basta deserve namin mag-champion,” Thompson said infront of the Ginebra faithfuls inside the Mall of Asia Arena.
That Finals Most Valuable Player plaque is the first one for Scottie Thompson after his three-year stint with the Gin Kings. Likewise, Thompson will also take home a Honda CBR 150r sports motorcycle and cash prize as part of his awards.
