Prior to PBA’s long break, the Gin Kings are seeking for its three straight victories and take the number one spot in the 2018 PBA Governors’ Cup standings.
Ginebra will be battling against the win-less NorthPort Batang Pier in this Wednesday’s main event scheduled at 7:00 PM and will be played inside the Big Dome.
Both teams are in the opposite side of the standings, the Gin Kings are currrently enjoying it 2-0 win-loss record while the Batang Pier are eager to get out from the bottom pit where they got 0-2 slate.
NorthPort chances to snag its initial victory is now more possible with the return of their top gunners. Stanley Pringle and Sean Anthony will have their first game in this season-ending tourney.
Known as “Stan-the-Man” is fresh from Jakarta, Indonesia where he played with the Gilas Pilipinas which took the fifth place in the just concluded 2018 Asian Games Men’s 5X5 Basketball tournament.
Sean “Mr. Do-It-All” Anthony on the other hand is finally healthy after absorbing an injury before the start of the third conference.
Pringle and Anthony helped the Batang Pier to reach the quarterfinals round last conference and without them their squad is having hard time to find a win.
“With Pringle and Anthony back in the fold, NorthPort is a completely different team than what we’ve seen so far this conference,” said Ginebra head coach Tim Cone.
“With those guys, they are true contenders. It’s our third game in six days so energy will be a concern for us. We know we have a battle in our hand,” Cone added.
However, despite of having Pringle and Anthony back in the NorthPort lineup, the Gin Kings still are the heavily favored team for tonight’s game.
Apart from their two game winning streak, team NSD are also fresh from their latest championship run as they bagged the 2018 PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
In Ginebra’s last game, Justin Brownlee teased another triple-double stats as he dropped 45 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists. Brownlee is just one point shy on tieying his career-high of 46 points.
