Without a doubt, Mark “the Spark” Caguioa was the in spotlight when the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel and the NLEX Road Warriors first collided in the 2018 PBA Governors’ Cup.
Caguioa reached the 10,000 career points in that match and the best thing, Gin Kings also won that game. Caguioa is the latest member to join the 10K Point Club.
Ginebra is once again in a drive for another Finals appearance and coach Tim Cone will have another grand slam at least in the season-ending tourney.
As always, Ginebra is the favorite team and loved by the majority of PBA fans. Apart from that, the odds seems to be in their direction not only as the number one team after the elimination round but they have a twice-to-beat advantage this quarterfinals.
Yet, veteran PBA coach Tim Cone is not discounting the Road Warriors.
“The real hard work starts. We know there’s no easy way in the playoffs. It’s all hard work and it’s always a tough route no matter who you’re playing,” said Ginebra coach Tim Cone.
With his deep experience in the league and winning a grand slam twice in his coaching career knows what it’s like when facing his counterpart head coach Yeng Guiao.
“I think we all coaches we try to avoid certain coaches we wanna play in the playoffs. And certainly, Yeng Guiao is one of those coaches you wanna avoid in the playoffs,” said Cone. “You know you would be in a tough battle with coach Yeng.”
