The San Miguel Beermen and the Magnolia Hotshots will be the main featured game after the Philippine Basketball Association opens up its 45th season this evening at the Big Dome.
June Mar Fajardo is poised to win his sixth PBA Most Valuable Player trophy and if that happens then he will be also included to the league’s Mythical First Team.
Sure those hardware looks great as he added it on his growing collection of accolades yet for sure that the “Kraken” may want to trade it just to join his team as they gear-up once again for another PBA title-seeking campaign.
Fajardo was the big story during the off-season. Not because he got involved in a blockbuster trade but because the gentle giant sustained a leg injury that will keep his at the sideline for the entire All-Filipino conference and could probably extend to the entire season.
Apart from Fajardo, Marcio Lassiter and Terrence Romeo also suffered injuries that forced coach Leo Austria to design a new winning basketball strategy that will keep them a championship contender for this first conference.
For the Hotshots side, on the other hand, they’re coming back with almost the same roster at the end of the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup.
Coach Chito Victolero is on possession to exploit the weakness of their opponent and avenge their Game 7 defeat in last year’s duel during the All-Locals tournament.
