The Talk ‘N Text (TNT) Tropang Gilas and the Alaska Aces are the two teams that are tasked to kick-start the resumption of the 2020 PBA All-Filipino Cup in Angeles City, Pampanga.
This might be the official launch of the new Alaska squad after several tweaks they have made last 44th PBA season particularly at the tail-end of that previous year.
The Aces brought in a new head coach and made a shuffle to its roster.
Coach Alex Compton is now replaced by now officially PBA head coach Jeffrey Cariaso plus they brought in Maverick Ahanmisi from Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, Abu Tratter from the Blackwater Elite, and Rob Herndon from the Magnolia Hotshots Pambansang Manok.
In those trades, they lost one of their ace guards as Chris Banchero is now with Magnolia. Likewise, former number one overall pick Noy Baclao (expired contract) and Sonny Thoss (retiring) won’t be on their bench.
For Talk ‘N Text, apart from adding a yellow alternate jersey last season they also changed their moniker to “Tropang Gilas” most probably to give the squad a feeling of a fresh start.
Apart from those obvious changes in the squad led by head coach Bong Ravena and Mark Dickel, they will also parade their latest acquisition as Poy Erram is set to make his debut as part of the KaTropa.
With the arrival of Erram, seems like TNT has completed their infinity stone and formed their Gilas five along with Troy Rosario, Jayson Castro, RR Pogoy, and Ray Parks Jr.
