The semis classico will now move to Ynares Center in Antipolo where Barangay Ginebra San Miguel and the Magnolia Hotshots continue their still unsettled business. Game time is at 7:00 PM.
Ginebra import Justin Brownlee had an explosive performance in Game 3 as the well-admired import dropped his career-high 46 points.
Joe Devance who was out almost this entire third conference is back to help his team to avoid getting eliminated.
“I actually told coach Tim that I wanted to play last game,” he recalled. “But him being concerned about my health, he decided to sit me out last game just to be safe.
“But ever since Game 1, I felt bad sitting out. I told myself, I’m not gonna get myself an excuse, can’t sit out right now.”
Devance played in 27 minutes and indeed able to contribute 8 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists.
One of the brightest spots of the game was the “magic hugot” of Gin Kings head coach Tim Cone.
While Greg Slaughter having hard time finding his right footing in the floor, coach Cone inserted Prince Caperal in the fourth quarter.
Looking at the stat sheet, Caperal has zero points but his presence inside the floor kept Ginebra in the game and even led by double-digit.
He was one of the reasons why Magnolia import Romeo Travis got limited by 12 points and 10 rebounds which is way below his average.
“We are happy to be alive and kicking,” said Cone, “but that’s not we are here for. If we are just going to win one game so we can take pride in that, that’s pogi points.
“We are here to win the series. I just hope the guys understand that and don’t rest on our laurels that they were able to pull out one game. We have to keep moving forward.”
